The Million Dollar Idea is a Win Win!

I saw Chris Gardner (The Pursuit of Happyness inspirer) in an interview recently, Gardner suggested

"The Government should give every registered American voter $1,000,000."

There are approx. 202 million registered voters in America, that's only 202 trillion the Government would have to spend to turn around the recession. Now think about it. I agree, just not for the money but for the economy as a whole. If everyone received 1 million dollars, those who have lost their jobs, now would be safe until they could find another, those who lost their homes, now could buy a new one, need a new car, buy one, can't afford all those backed up credit cards and hospital bills, pay 'em off. Now that everyone has money, it would be flooding back into the economy, new businesses, new jobs, old businesses now making more money and even the Government getting revenue back in all the tax dollars created. It's a win win.

Does bailing out the Banks really help anyone in financial need?

My wife and I would be considered in the "middle class" bracket and I can't see bailing out the banks, car company's, insurance company's, or any other business for that matter helping. You have to realize that most of the population that has lost their home or their jobs now have bad credit, if their credit wasn't already bad like mine. Using my wife and I for example, we have a 7% fixed rate mortgage, but with our credit bad, because of poor decisions with credit cards, can't get refinanced. I'm sure there are a lot of people who are in this same boat. How is bailing out these company's, lowering interest rates, and putting the banks in the position to give out more loans help those who need it but still can't get it. Can't afford a new car and even if we could, our credit isn't good enough. How exactly is this supposed to help?
Also since gas went up so high a few months back, groceries went up as well and even though gas has dropped back down, food didn't. I don't hear anyone talking about this. Trying to pay for the outrageous rising cost of groceries, outrageous rising cost of health insurance, outrageous rising cost of car insurance, electric bill, water, property taxes, sales tax, medications, etc., etc. Again, how does bailing out the banks really help?
