Kudos...
To David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby stores.
Employees of the Hobby Lobby chain nationwide will immediately receive substantial raises, some benefiting up to $600 per month. This comes in conjunction with the implementation of their own $10 per hour minimum wage. It appears that this retail giant has a history of taking care of it's employees. In 2008 Hobby Lobby gave workers permanent $0.25 per hour raises to help with cost-of-living increases caused by the spike in gasoline prices.
"Our employees are the backbone of our company, and we believe that giving them the opportunity to share in our success is the right thing to do,”
says Green.
Mr. Green built a multi-billion business from a meager $600 initial investment in 1972, supported by a foundation of strong Christian values, and free of long term debt.
"We believe the success of Hobby Lobby is directly attributable to our outstanding employees and our strong corporate values, which are based on biblical principles, including integrity, service to others and giving back to those in need.”
In my opinion, a company such as this deserves support in the form of our patronage. If we support companies with the same values as Hobby Lobby it will send almost as strong a message as a well placed vote.
